This 3-day safari combines the open savannahs of Mikumi National Park with the lush tropical forests of Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Expect thrilling game drives with elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and over 300 bird species, followed by a guided trek to the stunning Sanje Waterfalls, home to rare primates and ancient trees. With SGR train transfers for comfort, this adventure blends wildlife viewing and hiking for an unforgettable short safari.
ITINERARY
Day 1 – Dar es Salaam → Mikumi National Park
Pickup from your hotel or ferry and transfer to the SGR Train Station for a scenic ride to Morogoro (approx. 1–2 hours). Upon arrival, meet your driver-guide and continue to Mikumi National Park. Enjoy a late morning game drive followed by lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, continue with another game drive across Mikumi's plains, spotting elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and wildebeests. Dinner and overnight at Camp Lilac Mikumi.

Day 2 – Udzungwa Mountains Trek & Sanje Waterfalls
After breakfast, drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park (approx. 45 minutes). Begin a guided trek to the Sanje Waterfalls, a 3–4 hour hike through tropical forest. Encounter primates such as baboons and the rare Iringa red colobus, along with ancient trees and diverse birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the trek. Return to Camp Lilac Mikumi for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, transfer back to Morogoro SGR Station for your train to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel, ferry, or airport for onward travel
